Meditation Center

We look forward to being back in the Center and are eager to sit together in community. We are reopening slowly and cautiously, following local and CDC guidance. Here is the current status:

Reopening In-person Restrictions

Insight Santa Cruz will reopen June 15th starting with the Tuesdays at noon All Community Sit series with Bob Stahl. To protect Sangha members, capacity initially will be limited to 25 people, and chairs have been arranged to observe social distancing. Admittance will be first come first serve. Please come early to avoid congestion in the entryway. The windows will be open and the overhead fans in operation, so be prepared for chilly temperatures. Masks are required. If you are sick or running a temperature, please stay home and join us via Zoom.

More in-person sits and classes will be gradually added over time. We will update in-person restrictions after considering new advice from local authorities and the CDC

Onsite events will be simultaneously offered as online Zoom events. See the calendar entry to find the Join Online button or set the Location filter on any of the calendar listings to ‘Online’.

Zoom Operators needed

Not all sangha members are able to attend onsite. Insight Santa Cruz has been fortunate to have continued uninterrupted during the worst of the pandemic by offering online access. We are now committed to address the ongoing needs of both onsite and online members. This presents a challenge for ISC to return some events back to the Meditation Center. Onsite volunteers are needed to assist in making the Zoom session a quality experience for remote members. Please think of volunteering as a Zoom Operator for any of the sits you are interested in and contact the volunteer coordinator. Our online community will be thankful.

The ISC library is currently closed to checking out books.

How to find onsite events?

The ISC website calendar has a way to filter what is listed. For example, calendars can be filtered to show a single teacher’s events or ‘In-Center’ events. You can also see an In-Center Events Calendar under the Programs menu choice to see all events currently scheduled onsite.
