Dana means generosity

Insight Santa Cruz continues a 2,600-year-old Buddhist tradition of providing the teachings freely to all who are interested. In over thirty years, we have never charged for our programs. Financial support comes from the generosity of our community and others who value what we offer. When you attend a sit or program you have the opportunity to practice generosity by offering dana to support both the sangha and the teacher.

Sangha Dana

Sangha online dana

A contribution to the Sangha supports the center’s operating costs, including rent and the Guiding Teacher. Dana can be given online, by mail, or placed in the Community or Sangha basket at the center.

Teacher Dana

Teacher online gift

Teachers and facilitators are volunteers that donate their time to lead sits and classes. To express appreciation, a gift can be made either in the Teacher dana basket or through the teacher’s online payment preference. Checks must be addressed to them. Please note that dana gifted to an individual is not tax-deductible.
