Bob Stahl, PhD, formerly lived in a Buddhist monastery for eight and a half years and later founded eight Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programs in medical centers in the SF Bay Area. He is on faculty at the Brown University Mindfulness Center and formerly at the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Bob teaches MBSR Teacher Trainings and Insight Meditation retreats worldwide and is the former guiding teacher at Insight Santa Cruz and a visiting teacher at Spirit Rock and Insight Meditation Society. He is co-author of five books: A Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Workbook (1st & 2nd editions), Living With Your Heart Wide Open, Calming the Rush of Panic, A Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Workbook for Anxiety, and MBSR Everyday.

G Schulz began practicing insight meditation in 2003 after attending his first retreat in Thailand. Looking for a spiritual home, he became involved with ISC shortly after his return to Santa Cruz. G has participated in many retreats since 2003, both at home and abroad. He has also completed a teacher training program led by Bob Stahl, the Noble Path Program led by Carla Brennan and the Spirit Rock Dedicated Practitioner Program. G is currently participating in the Spirit Rock Advanced Practitioner program.

Tiffany Wong, MFA, is an instructor at UCSC where she teaches courses on mindfulness, creativity, and ecology. She leads a Watsonville Insight Meditation group and is empowered by JD Doyle to share the dharma. She has done monastery practice with Laung Por Pasanno at the Abhayagiri Monastery and with Thanissaro Bhikkhu at the Metta Forest Monastery. She recently received a contemplative fellowship from the Hemera Foundation for her work as an educator that supports initiatives that foster basic human goodness in individuals and society.

Yasmina Porter has been practicing mindfulness meditation since 2002 at which time she was certified at Dominican Hospital to teach Mindfulness-based Prenatal and Postpartum Yoga. In 2013, after a decade of practice and annual residential retreats with Bob Stahl, Jon Kabot-Zinn, and Mary Grace Orr, Yasmina was authorized to teach Mindfulness-based stress reduction through UMass Memorial Health Care Center for Mindfulness. She has taught MBSR in the Academy for College Excellence. Yasmina formed a People of Color Sitting Group at Insight Santa Cruz in 2017.
Practicing Together What We Love: The Dhamma
We would like to invite All Practitioners for a daylong that brings together affinity groups and the general community as One United Sangha. This will be a day of practice, sitting and walking together “shoulder to shoulder and heart to heart”. What brings us together is the love of the Dhamma so please join us for a day of sitting and walking meditation that will include guided meditation and short Dhamma talks.
