Yasmina Porter has been practicing mindfulness meditation since 2002 at which time she was certified at Dominican Hospital to teach Mindfulness-based Prenatal and Postpartum Yoga. In 2013, after a decade of practice and annual residential retreats with Bob Stahl, Jon Kabot-Zinn, and Mary Grace Orr, Yasmina was authorized to teach Mindfulness-based stress reduction through UMass Memorial Health Care Center for Mindfulness. She has taught MBSR in the Academy for College Excellence. Yasmina formed a People of Color Sitting Group at Insight Santa Cruz in 2017.
People of Color Group – Mondays
This weekly gathering is intended to create a safe space for self-identified people of color.
Each week there will be a 30-minute guided sit followed by a 30-minute
mindful check-in circle and tea.
Everyone who identifies as a Person of Color is welcome to attend.

N95 or KN95 Masks are Required
We highly recommend that onsite attendees be fully vaccinated, including boosters, per CDC guidelines. Attendees are required to wear N95 or KN95 masks that fit well and cover the nose and mouth. ISC will provide a mask if you need one, but you can support the center by bringing your own.
