Inner Resources

This Dharma teaching will focus on Inner Resources that support us in our practice and in our interactions with the world — Desire, Persistence, Intention, and Discrimination. In today’s world. power is a highly sought after possession. However in our Buddhist practice we cultivate a certain strength or stability that is a power within. This strength, when developed, can carry us through the most difficult challenges in life. Strength within develops from these four qualities— from the good type of desire (the desire for freedom), from persistence in our practice, from our deepest intentions, and from our ability to discriminate or discern what actions lead to freedom and what actions lead to suffering. This talk will go into some detail on the process of cultivating the fourth quality — discrimination or discernment.
