Jan has been a student of meditation for many years and continues to learn from many wise teachers. She teaches Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) locally and in the South Bay. She completed the Insight Santa Cruz Community Teacher training program in 2017. She hopes to support others in cultivating wisdom and compassion to benefit all beings.

Coming Home, Cultivating Mindfulness of the Body series – Wednesdays in September
The body is our earthly home, but it doesn’t have to define us. Often, we are out of touch with our immediate direct experience and identify with habitual ways of seeing and knowing while missing the fresh aliveness that is always here. How can we come home to our bodies with curiosity, openness, and compassion?
During this 5-week series, we will draw on some of the practices found within the teachings of the First Foundation of Mindfulness. We will practice mindfulness of the breath, sounds, sensations, movement, and bring mindfulness into our daily activities. Cultivating awareness of the body allows us to be present to its ever-changing landscape and can be a doorway to greater understanding and freedom to be with things just as they are.
