A Year to Live
This year long course is inspired by the book A Year To Live, by teacher Stephen Levine. There is nothing like contemplating our own death to help us reprioritize and stop wasting time. The class will meet once a month on the first Sunday and exercises and meditations, contemplations and reflections will be assigned to keep us engaged until the next meeting. There will be group sharing and skillful guidance offered as we navigate the unknown, the inevitable. Please purchase or borrow the book so you can have it as a resource, either read it before we meet or read along with us. Journaling is also suggested to bring your insights to life. The Buddha said about mindfulness of death, “Of all the footprints in the jungle that of the elephant is supreme. Of all the mindfulness practices, Mindfulness of Death is supreme.”
Get ready to awaken to the preciousness of life by preparing for your own death.
Please commit to attending all classes, this is not offered as a drop in program.
