Celebrate your inner (and outer) Fabulousness with your Sangha

We will gather on June 2, at 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of Pacific Avenue and Cathcart Street in downtown Santa Cruz. Look for the Insight Santa Cruz banner amidst the other Faith contingents; we will be marching with them. The parade starts promptly at 11am. It would be lovely to have you join us before the parade starts, and you are welcome to jump in when you see our contingent pass by during the parade. Everyone is encouraged to bring a bell and to ring your bell as we walk up Pacific Avenue. Festive attire is also encouraged, but not required. Come as you are! All are welcome!

Members of ISC and Santa Cruz Zen Center invite anyone interested to read and explore the experiences and teachings of the book “Healing Our Way Home: Black Buddhist Teachings on Ancestors, Joy and Liberation” (Jewel-Lingo, Brown, Gomez). We will convene the group for five in-person meetings and use the authors’ guidance and practices as a springboard for discussion, connection, and spiritual growth. Facilitated by Patrick Teverbaugh, Meg Corman and Eve Eden.

Selfless Service is an Important Aspect of Buddhist Practice

This program will be a unique opportunity to hear from a few returning citizens from the California State Prison system about their journey, their practice, and what supported them and led to their release from prison. As part of the discussion, we will hear about the Boundless Freedom Project, which offers programs for incarcerated men and women, in both Buddhism and secular mindfulness throughout the state. BFP also helps with employment for those released. Facilitated by Jill and Bruce Hyman. All are welcome.
