Developing a wise relationship to dukkha (unsatisfactoriness, stress, distress, suffering) is both the crucial first step of the path and an ongoing journey. In this evening talk, we will explore some of the many approaches the Buddha offered for freeing ourselves from dukkha so that we can live with greater calm, clarity, and compassion.

Teacher: Jill Shepherd began practicing insight meditation in Thailand in 1999, and since that time has lived and worked at several meditation centers and monasteries in the US, Australia, England, and Thailand. She is a graduate of the IMS / Spirit Rock teacher training program in the US, under the guidance of Joseph Goldstein and Gil Fronsdal, and she currently teaches retreats and workshops in the USA, Australia, and New Zealand.
